Sex
Sex discrimination is treating people unfairly because they are either male or female.
Indirect sex discrimination is treatment which appears to be equal but is unfair on certain people because of their sex. To be unlawful it must be unreasonable.

Example Melanie was studying metalwork and passing all her subjects. But during work experience her supervisor advised her to find a "more suitable job for a girl". Melanie could claim she was discriminated against by her supervisor on the basis of sex. |
