A land agent refused to rent me a flat because I am a single mother. Can I complain about this?
Yes you can. It is unlawful under both the Equal Opportunity Act and the Residential Tenancies Act to deny you rental accommodation because you have children. It is also unlawful discrimination to deny you rental housing because of your marital status.
