Workplace bullying , discrimination and harassment

Recommended for: non supervisory employees

This workshop for staff identifies appropriate and inappropriate behaviours and some low key, but effective, ways of intervening early.  By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

·  Describe what is meant by discrimination, harassment and bullying
·  Understand its impact in the workplace
·  Understand their rights and responsibilities 
·  Know what to do and where to go for help

Nipping problems in the bud and complaint handling

Recommended for: supervisors, managers, HR consultants

This workshop emphasises the role the manager can and must play in the early intervention of grievances that are reported to them or that they observe.  By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

·  Better identify the line between inappropriate and appropriate behaviours
·  Know what to do if they observe inappropriate behaviours or if someone approaches them with a grievance
·  Bring people together to resolve conflict

Contact Person: Role and responsibilities

Recommended for: newly or recently appointed contact persons
Not recommended for managers or supervisors

This workshop explores the role of the Contact Person, the first contact for people who believe they have been subjected to bullying, discrimination and harassment.  By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

· Describe what is meant by discrimination, harassment and bullying and understand its impact
· Understand the role and responsibilities of the contact person and learn the skills required to undertake the role
· Apply these skills to hypothetical scenarios

Time:  1 day (9am - 4pm - lunch provided)

This workshop is designed to provide existing Contact Persons with an opportunity to get together and brush up on some of the essential skills and knowledge they need to perform their role.  The aims of the workshop are to:

· Revisit the role of the contact person
· Practice the skills required using relevant case scenarios
· Address any concerns or dilemmas faced by participants in their role as contact person
