Background

The 2024 Review of Harassment in the Legal Profession in South Australia is being undertaken by the Commissioner for Equal Opportunity Jodeen Carney.

This follows and was one of the 16 recommendations from the 2021 review.

The 2024 review will examine the effectiveness of the laws, policies, structures and complaint mechanisms relating to harassment, including sexual harassment, in the South Australian legal profession.

Feedback will show the extent of change over the past 3 years.

Methodology

The experiences and views of those who work or who have worked in a workplace that provides legal services over the past 3 years are vital to this review.

This includes those who practise the law as well as those who provide legal administrative services such as:

  • law clerks
  • paralegals
  • secretaries
  • office administration staff
  • students undertaking a clerkship or legal placement.
